ristrutturazione appartamento

d.069 new apartment project – Vertova (BG)
In the context of a council house of the early ‘900 we have been committed with the aim of obtaining a functional apartment developed on two levels in a total of 50 square meters. The input, or rather the “refusal” from which we started, was to avoid at all costs to create a spiral staircase that connected the ground floor with the upper floor. Hence the idea of designing a single-body staircase, developed vertically and revisited in a functional partition between the living and sleeping areas: two painted steel strings interlock treads in natural hand-planed oak in a light micro-perforated metal structure, while vertical tubulars support capacious shelves of a bookcase. Another important issue was to create the kitchen service as a regulating element of spaces; in fact, together with the doors of the oven and pantry columns, there are hinged doors that disengage the small bedroom on the ground floor, the technical room and the dressing room. Behind this game of micro-perforated and lacquered panels are the living room, kitchen, guest bedroom, technical room, bathroom, study bookcase, double bedroom and linear walk-in closet. Particular attention has been paid to the selection of materials and finishes: hand-planed parquet, rough stones, pure limes, opaque lacquers, materic and laminated coatings on the gradation of warm gray tones make up the materials palette of custom-designed spaces and furnishings.
