Borgo Santa Caterina, cuore della città di Bergamo. È in questo contesto, più precisamente all’ultimo piano di un palazzo dei primi del ‘900, dove ha inizio il progetto di recupero di un sottotetto per trasformarlo in una zona padronale con sguardo sui tetti del borgo. A seguito delle richieste della committenza e dopo un attento analisi dell’inquadramento urbanistico, abbiamo deciso insieme di costruire una scala interna che dall’appartamento esistente potesse giungere fino ai nuovi ambienti: camera padronale, cabina armadio e bagno padronale. Un luminoso lucernario è stato ricavato per dare nuova luce a questo sottotetto, in passato adibito a locale di sgombero; è stata fatta una minuziosa selezione dei materiali, unita alla scelta di finiture coordinate con lo studio dell’illuminazone, con l’obbiettivo di rendere fluidi e senza soluzione di continuità i percorsi che collegano il piano esistente fino ai nuovi ambienti del sottotetto. Insieme alla progettazione del recupero sottotetto è stata ripensata anche tutta la distribuzione del taglio spazi interno, al fine di dare nuove funzioni e nuovi percorsi ed esaudire le richieste della committenza.

Borgo Santa Caterina, the heart of the city of Bergamo. It’s in this context, more precisely on the last floor of a building of the early ‘900, where the an attic renovation project begins in order to transform it into a parents’ area with a view on the roofs of the village. Following the requests of the client and after a careful analysis of the urban framework, we decided together to build an internal staircase that from the existing apartment could reach the new rooms: bedroom, walk-in closet and bathroom. A bright skylight has been created to give new light to this attic, in the past used as an evacuation room; we did a meticulous selection of materials, together with the choice of finishes coordinated with the study of lighting, with the aim of making the paths connecting the existing floor to the new attic spaces seamless and fluid. Together with the design of the attic renovation, the entire distribution of the internal spaces was also redesigned, in order to give new functions and new paths and fulfill the requests of the client.
